La misurazione delle collezioni digitali è un compito lungo, oneroso e complesso per le biblioteche che raccolgono i report statistici prodotti dai vendors e poi devono costruire un set di indicatori che consentano di misurare l'efficienza e l'efficacia delle raccolte digitali. A novembre 2005 NISO ha lanciato una nuova iniziativa denominata SUSHI (Standardized Usage Statistics Harvesting Initiative) per la raccolta e il trasferimento automatico dei report statistici, mentre a Novembre 2006 sono sono state pubblicate sul sito dell’ICOLC (International Coalition of Library Consortia) le Revised guidelines for statistical measures of usage of web-based information resources che aggiornano le precedenti linee guida pubblicate nel 2001.

E-measures are becoming increasingly essential for digital libraries management. The article deals with the mainfold problems correlated with usage statistics and discuss the new NISO/SUSHI (Standardized Usage Statistics Harvesting Initiative)Initiative, the protocol to harvest usage statistics in automated way and the Revised guidelines for statistical measures of usage of web-based information resources of ICOLC.
