Revisa conceitos associados à educação de usuários nas bibliotecas universitárias e ressalta a importância crescente do desenvolvimento de habilidades informacionais no contexto da disponibilização da informação digital em rede.

The paper examines concepts associated to user education in academic libraries and highlights the importance of information skills development in the context of the networked environment.
