<dc:description>Acknowledged certificate authorities generate and administer public keys or certificates which are used for the verification of electronic signatures.
This paper deals with possible implementation of certificate authorities in Switzerland. The question will be analysed, why up to now, no such institution has been implemented in Switzerland and what the concrete realisation would look like.
A first part will deal with theoretical questions about digital signatures and their adoption in the actual situation in Switzerland.
Five strategies are going to be presented and compared for the implementation of an acknowledged certificate authority in Switzerland.</dc:description>
