This article provides the results and a practical oriented concept for the evaluation of full-text aggregator databases in relation to the library’s serial holdings. Firstly, the characteristics of full-text aggregator databases (e.g. embargoes) are outlined. This is followed by a description of quantitative (title list, full-text availability) and qualitative (peer-reviewed, rankings, indexing and abstracting) evaluation criteria in terms of content. Additionally, usability (mainly searchability), user requirements and usage statistics were analyzed. Regarding the results of the comparison, EBSCO Business Source Premier features more content than ABI/Inform ProQuest. Because of the rather small overlap of the contents, the licensing of both databases can be argued reasonably, provided the appropriate financial scope.</mods:abstract><mods:classification authority="lcc">IB.
