%X This article discusses in detail about the various aspects of the human resources and personnel management of the National Library of Australia (NLA), including the law background: Council of the National Library of Australia and Australian Public Service; the selection of Senior Executive Service; the appointment process of ordinary employees; the system of career planning, orientation programs, entry level training, competencies and vocational training?managerial and development programs?further education; the settings of apartments; the objects of NLA, as well as the arrangement of flextime. At last, the author concludes that the primary goal of the whole management system of NLA is to farthest exert employees' working enthusiasm and to help them gain the sense of achievement and career satisfaction, and thus to keep the excellent employees.
