The application of knowledge management in medical and health care organizations has been evaluated. Knowledge management in medical and health care organizations had been discussed under two subtopics in particular: The evolution of knowledge management in USA; Knowledge Management strategies adopted to manage explicit and tacit knowledge. The role of libraries and librarians in the process of knowledge management was emphasized as well. The final part of the study includes some ideas on how to initiate knowledge management in medical and health care organizations in Turkey.
