abstract: Information technologies have undergone rapid development in the last decade and these developments especially affected the information and records management profession. Developments in information technologies have caused changes in the way of creating, storing, sending and sharing records in organisational structures, and traditional record management has been replaced by a modern understanding of record management. In this respect, the management of electronic records let important problems arise. This study focuses on the effects of information technologies on records management, and thus on electronic record management.
