AEPIC is a project managed by CILEA that started in 2003 and now is able to provide innovative solutions for electronic publishing and digital libraries at very competitive costs and timetable, employing open-source and OAI-PMH compliant software. AEPIC coordinates and participates to several national and international projects. |

AIMS is the acronym for Agricultural Information Management Standards and is facilitated by the Office of Knowledge, Exchange, Research and Extension at FAO of the United Nations. AIMS is a platform for the dissemination of international information management standards, tools, services and good practices in the field of agriculture and related sciences. AIMS is lighting the way to a field of agricultural data sown with structured, linked information and knowledge. As these internet-based resources are distributed, AIMS facilitates communities of practice centered on the themes of interoperability, reusability and cooperation. These themes find their expression in vocabularies, methodologies, tools and services that promote coherence in agricultural information. |

CIEPI is the acronym for International Centre for the Research of Strategy and Information Prospective. CIEPI's objective is to study the situation, trends and evolution of information, its techniques, processes, management, as well as the roles of its professionals. It is aimed at general research, but initially it specifically addressed the preservation of digital information, and the normalisation, evaluation and visibility of science and e-science, paying special attention to its social aspects. |

Ministerio de Cultura, Subdirección General de Coordinación Bibliotecaria (Government of Spain). The Ministry of Culture's library projects was created to promote Spanish libraries and foster equal access to quality library services for all members of the public. The Office of Library Co-ordination works through a series of action lines, which include: Library co-operation and co-ordination: Creation of structures and promotion of activities for co-operation and co-ordination of interests for libraries with national and international entities and organisations, both public and private; Development and modernisation of library services: Actions geared towards the consolidation of the Spanish Libraries System, such as the co-operative acquisition of bibliographical collections and projects to assist in the cataloguing and classification process of libraries' collections (REBECA), and promote the visibility of public libraries on the Internet (Pregunte, Web Hosts, Travesía), etc.; Bibliographic Heritage preservation and promotion: Development of preservation, conservation and promotion projects for the Spanish Bibliographic Heritage; and Creation and development of digital libraries: Promotion and execution of digital library creation projects, which provide access to the information, expand the library services offered and preserve the fragile original materials existing in the libraries.

It's aim is to extend and update DoIS (Documents in Information Science). RCLIS is inspired by the open source software movement and it is based on volunteer power. |

Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania (NLL) is a national cultural institution, which
collects, organizes and preserves Lithuania’s written cultural heritage content, develops the
collection of Lithuanian and foreign documents relevant to research, educational and cultural
needs of Lithuania, and provides library information services to the public. The mission of NLL is
to preserve the national documentary heritage and provide access to information and knowledge
resources from Lithuania and all over the world. One of the main goals of NLL is to satisfy the
information demands of all its users. Also Library is an active organiser of the state libraries
integration into the world library system and refinement of professional qualification in the fields
of information sciences. NLL participates in the work of national and international library and
information organizations and is an active partner in a variety of projects. |

Polish Librarian Association (Poland) was created in 1917 to build up the prestige and professional profile of the librarians. Indeed, thanks to organization and coordinated work the community raised its position. The Union of Librarians, our predecessor, by acceding in 1927 to the International Federation of Library Associations IFLA, founded at that time in Edinburgh, won the status of IFLA founding members. Numerous representatives of Polish librarians participated in the work of the specialized IFLA agencies. Now PLA has about 8300 members, taken part all kinds of libraries in Poland. It is not an exclusive organization. We have branches in every regional voivodeship. They are generally based in major libraries, mainly of the public type, although in recent years PLA branches have been set up in a number of academic libraries. |

Turkish Librarians Association (TLA) was formed in November 19th, 1949 to encourage the professional collaboration among Turkish librarians, to raise awareness throughout the country of librarianship as a profession. The center of the Association is located in Ankara. Its pioneer was Adnan Otuken and 16 of the 35 founders were the librarians from the National Library. While the association was active in Ankara during the first years, with a modification in the main regulation, it expanded its activities to the cities and districts by opening several branches all over the country. TLA aims to contribute sociated development by developing the services of libraries, archives, and information and documentation centers. TLA also publishes Journal of Turkish Librarianship, which is quarterly, peer reviewed journal since 1952. Since it started having article abstract in English in 1993, E-LIS will cover its issues after this date. |

Universite ve Arastirma Kutuphanecileri Dernegi-UNAK (University and Research Librarians Association-UNAK) was formed in 1991 to work for modern perception and role of librarianship in university and research libraries, documentation and information centers, and private libraries. UNAK aims to analyse the issues of these information centers related to rapidly changing technology; to make comparisons between Turkey and the other countries on these issues and their solutions; to determine problems of library staff and find solutions; to work actively in implementing new technologies. UNAK is the publisher of Bilgi Dunyasi (Information World), a peer reviewed OA journal since 2000, published twice a year. Bilgi Dunyasis articles are also covered in E-LIS. |

VÖB - Vereinigung Österreichischer Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare [Association of Austrian Librarians] represents approximately 1.200 members mainly from academic and research libraries in Austria. It was founded in 1945, and its predecessor, the Österreichische Verein für Bibliothekswesen [Austrian Association for Librarianship] dates back to 1896. The VÖB organizes conferences and publishes the quarterly journal Mitteilungen der Vereinigung Österreichischer Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare (ISSN 1022-2588) and the book series Schriften der Vereinigung Österreichischer Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare which contains conference proceedings and monographs on library and information studies. From 2011 on, the journal articles will be available open access in E-LIS. Papers from the proceedings of the ODOK, a biennial conference jointly organized by the VÖB and the ÖGDI – Österreichische Gesellschaft für Dokumentation und Information [Austrian Society for Documentation and Information] are available in E-LIS beginning with the publication year 2007. |
