| Abstract: | In the information lifecycle, libraries, traditionally, have a tertiary position: they select, mediate and diffuse existing information and documentation.
Digital libraries, instead, add a fourth function: they support the documents production, with e-prints repositories, e-journals and other open access instruments. |
| Other Abstracts: | Nel ciclo di vita dell'informazione la biblioteca occupa, tradizionalmente, una posizione terziaria: si occupa di selezionare, mediare e diffondere l'informazione e la dosumentazione esistente.
Le biblioteche digitali, invece, stanno aggiungendo a queste una quarta funzione: quella di supporto alla produzione documentale, attraverso gli archivi di eprints, le riviste elettroniche e altri strumenti, in particolare quelli legati all'accesso aperto. |
