| Abstract: | This article aims to review the status of Information Science in years 2001-2007 – in the light of the ongoing meta-theoretical discourse within the discipline. Basing on conceptual analysis and literature review four meta-theoretical approaches to Information Science have been identified: (1) philosophical, (2) scientometric, (3) “the human factor” driven, and (4) postulative. In addition, examples of different “reconstructions” of the contemporary Information Science, resulting from the mentioned approaches, are given. |
| Other Abstracts: | Artykuł omawia kierunki i wyniki rozważań metanaukowych nad współczesną nauką o informacji na świecie. W anglojęzycznej literaturze przedmiotu z lat 2001-2007 zidentyfikowano cztery podejścia metanaukowe do informatologii jako dyscypliny: filozoficzne, naukoznawcze/naukometryczne, podejście ze współczynnikiem humanistycznym oraz postulatywne. W ich ramach powstały różne, mające jednak obszerną część wspólną „rekonstrukcje” informatologii w XXI wieku: przedmiotem badań nauki o informacji są obiekty, procesy, zdarzenia i zjawiska informacyjne w społeczeństwie, uchwycone w perspektywie mediacji pomiędzy utrwalonymi zasobami informacji/wiedzy a ludźmi, którzy jej potrzebują. |
