| Abstract: | Angelo Rocca founded the Biblioteca Angelica in Rome, the first public library in Europe. Being an important figure in the culture of the'600, he was bibliophile, typographer, erudite and librarian. He worked in Biblioteca Vaticana and Tipografia Vaticana and due to this experiences, he acquired competences for the following activities at the Biblioteca Angelica. Rocca showed attention for modern library themes: importance of the customer, library services organization, the liberal vision of the library and the importance of a suitable system of classification. |
| Other Abstracts: | Angelo Rocca, fondatore della Biblioteca Angelica di Roma, la prima biblioteca pubblica in Europa, fu una figura importante nella cultura del '600: fu bibliofilo, tipografo, erudito e bibliotecario. Operò presso la Biblioteca Vaticana e presso la Tipografia Vaticana e grazie a questa esperienza acquisì le giuste competenze per le successive attività presso la Biblioteca Angelica. Rocca, pur perfettamente inserito nel suo tempo, dimostra attenzione per problematiche biblioteconomiche sicuramente attuali, fondamentali per l'impostazione della sua biblioteca: l'attenzione per l'utente, la pinificazione dei serivizi, la visione liberale della biblioteca e l'importanza di un adeguato sistema di classificazione. |
