| Abstract: | The emergence of Informational Societies (IS) originates with the introduction of information and communication technologies (ICT) to our daily events, since these have been the main tools used in the transfer and dissemination of information and knowledge generation. The purpose of this letter is to show an outline of historic change in industrial societies to Informational, as well as the impact of ICT in Latin America and whether there really an IS in our continent. |
| Other Abstracts: | El surgimiento de las Sociedades Informacionales (SI) se origina con la introducción de las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación (TICS) a nuestro acontecer diario, ya que han sido estas las principales herramientas utilizadas en la transferencia y diseminación informativa y generación del conocimiento. El objetivo del presente escrito es mostrar un esbozo histórico del cambio de sociedades industriales a Informacionales, así como el impacto de las TICS en América Latina y si realmente existe una SI en nuestro continente. |
