| Abstract: | Using ISI Essential Science Indicators, the publications and citations of Turkey is analyzled for the period 1997-2006. The develoment of internationally co-authored papers is discussed. Turkey’s recent scientific performance is compared with Spain and Poland according to different science and technology indicators. The importance of bibliometry in research evaluation is emphasized and some critics about the ISI impact factor is listed. |
| Other Abstracts: | Bu makalede Türkiye’nin 1997-2006 yılları arasında, Thomson ISI firmasının TBG (Temel Bilimsel Göstergeler)veritabanına göre yayınlar ve atıflar açısından hangi alanlarda uzmanlaştığı gösterilmiş, Web of Science veritabanındaki son on yılda Türkiye’nin uluslararası ortak yazarlı yayınların yıllara göre dağılımına yer verilmiş ve çeşitli bilim göstergelerine göre Polonya ve İspanya’yla karşılaştırma yapılmıştır. Makalede ayrıca bibliyometrinin bilimsel araştırmaların değerlendirmesinde önemine ve ISI dergi etki faktörüyle ilgili eleştirilere değinilmiştir. |
