| Abstract: | Mobility and access to web contents and services from any place having an Internet connection are both advantages of using mobile devices like mobile phones, PDAs, smartphones, ultra mobile PCs or ultra low cost PCs. But also new questions arise, mainly related to contents accessibility through that kind of devices: their characteristics, connections and the way people connect to the Internet in motion generate different requirements. Therefore we must question whether it is necessary to adapt web interfaces to such circumstances also in libraries, that find new possibilities to develop new services. |
| Other Abstracts: | El acceso a la web desde dispositivos móviles (teléfonos móviles, PDAs y smartphones, ultraportátiles, portátiles de bajo coste, etc.) ofrece ventajas como la movilidad y el acceso a contenidos y servicios desde cualquier punto con una conexión a internet, pero también plantea nuevas cuestiones relacionadas con la accesibilidad de los contenidos basadas fundamentalmente en las características físicas de esos dispositivos y en sus conexiones (pantallas pequeñas, teclados diferentes a los de los ordenadores convencionales, limitaciones de memoria y formatos soportados, o conexiones más lentas), pero también en un contexto de movilidad y unas necesidades diferentes. Todo ello lleva a cuestionarse la necesidad de adaptar las interfaces web a estas nuevas circunstancias, y también en las bibliotecas, para las que se abren nuevas posibilidades a la hora de desarrollar sus servicios. |
