| Abstract: | E-LIS is the largest open access repository in the field of library and information science and is maintained voluntarily by an international team of librarians and information professionals. As from June 2009, it contains at about 9.200 full text documents in 37 languages from more than 5.600 authors from 90 countries. Additionally to the provision of services to authors and associations in the field, the management of policy issues is crucial for the repository administration. Thus E-LIS has, inter alia, completed a policy audit and intends to formulate and communicate its policies in a standardized way. |
| Other Abstracts: | E-LIS è il più grande repository del mondo ad accesso aperto nel campo delle scienze biblioteconomiche e dell’informazione, gestito e curato su base volontaria da un gruppo di
bibliotecari e professionisti dell’informazione. A giugno 2009 sono presenti oltre 9000
documenti a testo pieno in 37 lingue diverse di 5600 autori provenienti da 90 diversi Paesi
del mondo. Oltre ai servizi offerti ad autori e associazioni nel campo di queste discipline,
risulta cruciale la gestione di politiche per l’amministrazione dell’archivio. Pertanto E-LIS
può essere considerato, tra l’altro, un punto di riferimento per altri archivi aperti, formulando
e comunicando le sue politiche di gestione di un archivio in modo standardizzato e
aperto*. |
