Integración de información sobre biblioteconomía y documentación en España. La colaboración entre E-LIS, EXIT e IraLIS

Abstract

That man is a social being is something known for some time, but maybe it is now with the amount of sophisticated means we have to communicate, when we see it clearly. In addition to interconnections, we also find advantages with the integration of functions in one product or service. Historical experience demonstrates the advantages of integration: many databases together in one online host, service Dialog OneSearch simultaneous search, portals, mashups, social networks, catalogs, collectors (harvesters), federated search ... Our comfort is enhanced if we have all at hand or, at least, interconnected. Here we present the interconnection of 3 products: the E-LIS repository, the EXIT Directory, and the IraLIS platform to standardize author names. As conclusions we can say that man has a latent need for interconnection, as we have a "hypertext" nature, and in general all the integrated services and devices are succesful, since they produce an added usability.
