| Abstract: | The experience of the Universitat Jaume I Library is explained as a multipurpose service, in which, different professionals of the information: documentalists, librarians and archivists work in a coordinated way. Beyond technical treatment and methodological differences of the several types of documents that exist in the university, the University Library is conceived as a centralised and unique service that manage the information and documentation of the institution, making up the services of Archive, Library and Documentation Centers (European, Recovery of the Local Historic Memory, etc). The experience us proves that it is possible to carry out functions specific to Library, General Archive and Documentation Centers, and, at the same time, developing common projects. We achieve rationalize to the maximum our resources, so much human beings, as economic and of infrastructure, and, the most important, to offer a close, efficient and quality service to the user. |
| Other Abstracts: | Se expone la experiencia de la Biblioteca de la Universitat Jaume I como servicio polivalente, en el que, trabajan de forma coordinada diferentes profesionales de la información: documentalistas, bibliotecarios y archiveros. Más allá de las diferencias metodológicas y de tratamiento técnico de los diversos tipos de documentos que existen en la universidad, la Biblioteca se concibe como un servicio único que gestiona la información y documentación de la institución, integrando los servicios de Archivo, Biblioteca y Centros de Documentación (Europea, Derecho del Transporte Internacional, Recuperación de la Memoria Histórica Local, etc). La experiencia nos demuestra que podemos llevar a cabo las funciones propias de Biblioteca, Archivo General y Centros de Documentación, y, paralelamente, desarrollar proyectos comunes. Con ello conseguimos racionalizar al máximo los recursos, tanto humanos, como económicos y de infraestructura, y, lo que consideramos más importante, ofrecer un servicio cercano, eficaz y de calidad al usuario. |
