| Abstract: | The information literacy field has many contributors nowadays, but undoubtedly one of the most prolific and interesting writers is Dr. Andrew K. Shenton. Dr. Shenton is a former lecturer in Northumbria University’s School of Computing, Engineering and Information Sciences. He is one of the leading researchers in the LIS field, studying mainly the information-seeking behaviour of children and young people. He gained a doctorate in 2002 after investigating “The characteristics and development of young people's information universes”, which innovatively draws on the ideas and points of view of youngsters and investigates how these universes develop during childhood.
One of his passions is writing and he has published over 70 papers in a wide range of publications around the world. |
| Other Abstracts: | El campo de la alfabetización informacional tiene hoy en día muchos contribuyentes, pero sin duda uno de los escritores más prolíficos e interesantes es el Dr. Andrew K. Shenton. El Dr. Shenton fue profesor de la Universidad de Northumbria. Él es uno de los principales investigadores en el campo de las ciencias de la información, estudiando principalmente los comportamientos de búsqueda de información de niños y jóvenes. Obtuvo el doctorado en 2002, tras la investigación "Las características y el desarrollo de los universos informacionales de los jóvenes", que de manera innovadora se basa en las ideas y puntos de vista de los jóvenes e investiga cómo estos universos se desarrollan durante la infancia. Una de sus pasiones es escribir y ha publicado más de 70 trabajos en una amplia gama de publicaciones de todo el mundo. |
