| Abstract: | The autonomous Province of Bolzano-Bozen (South Tyrol) possesses a rich cultural heritage. More than 70 museums and collections provide knowledge on prehistory and early history, folk culture, arts, arts and crafts, nature, technology, industry, and the working environment of South Tyrol, and more than 6000 protected architectural monuments show the changeful history of the province. However, only a few of the collections are completely catalogued according to international standards. Several systems are applied (software, card catalogues, inventories, etc.), and the data in these systems is not interchangeable because of different methods of documentation. Due to this, the government of the province South Tyrol aims at assisting museums, churches, and the institutions related to preservation of monuments in order to catalogue the cultural heritage in a complete and standardized way. The result should be a bilingual electronic catalogue that meets legal requirements as well as international standards. This "virtual catalogue" provides different entry points for different types of users (general users, scientists, administrative officers, curators) and will be the basis for further projects. |
| Other Abstracts: | Die Autonome Provinz Bozen Südtirol ist reich an kulturellem Erbe. Mehr als 70 Museen und Sammlungen vermitteln Wissen über Vor- und Frühgeschichte, Volkskultur, Kunst, Kunstgewerbe, Natur, Technik, Industrie und Arbeitswelt Südtirols. Über 6000 geschützte Baudenkmäler legen Zeugnis von der wechselvollen Geschichte des Landes ab. Nur wenige Sammlungen sind vollständig und den internationalen Normen entsprechend katalogisiert. Für die Katalogisierung werden unterschiedliche Systeme (Software, Karteikarten, Inventarbücher etc.) verwendet, deren Daten aufgrund verschiedener Dokumentationsmethoden nicht vernetzbar und austauschbar sind. Die Südtiroler Landesverwaltung sieht deshalb die Notwendigkeit, den denkmalpflegerischen, musealen und kirchlichen Institutionen eine Hilfestellung in diese Richtung zu geben und unterstützt die umfassende Katalogisierung der Südtiroler Kulturgüter. Ziel des Projektes Katalogisierung der Kulturgüter in Südtirol ist die einheitliche Erfassung und Katalogisierung der in Südtirol bestehenden beweglichen und unbeweglichen Kulturgüter zur Erhaltung des Kulturerbes. Das Ergebnis soll ein (elektronischer) Katalog aller Südtiroler Kulturgüter sein, der zweisprachig zugänglich ist und sowohl den gesetzlichen Mindestvorgaben als auch internationalen Normen entspricht. Dieser "virtuelle Katalog" der Kulturgüter Südtirols bietet unterschiedliche "Informationsebenen" für unterschiedliche Benutzer an (allgemeiner Endbenutzer, Wissenschafter, Verwaltungsmitarbeiter, Kurator) und wird Ausgangsbasis für die Entwicklung weiterer Angebote sein. |
