Abstract: Acquiring library skills is the first step that a person must take to become information literate. The article pleads for the university library’s role in training students to become aware of today’s possibilities of accessing information and acquiring knowledge. There are a few examples of activities developed by “Carol I” Central University Library of Bucharest, regarding training in library skills and not only.
