| Abstract: | The implementation of facilities aimed at serving as archive implies both the planning of the constructive aspects linked to their function and foreseeing suitable corrective measures which should ensure the preservation and safety of the materials stored. Therefore, taking the Spanish and international standards on this matter as a starting point, the present work reviews the full layout and design of the archive building and tackles the different measures which conform the general scheme for the conservation and preservation of batches of documents. The paper deals with the debate on the preservation by digital substitution (digitalization) as opposed to analogical (microfilming). |
| Other Abstracts: | Construir un equipamiento destinado a ejercer las funciones propias de archivo implica no sólo planificar los aspectos constructivos vinculados a su funcionalidad, sino también tomar medidas correctoras adecuadas para garantizar la conservación y la seguridad de los materiales que se tendrán que custodiar. Así pues, partiendo de la normativa española e internacional que incide sobre esta importante misión, el presente trabajo repasa la planificación completa del edificio de archivo y aborda las diferentes medidas que forman parte de un programa general de conservación y preservación de los fondos documentales. El trabajo incide en el debate sobre la preservación por sustitución digital (digitalización) frente a la analógica (microfilmación). |
