| Abstract: | Free software is a type of software that gives freedom to its users. With the coming of Internet, free software has consolidated like alternative, technically viable and economically sustainable, to the property software. Languages like Galician, the gaellic or the Catalan have had a very little development in the world of the software of property by the limitations that imposes. In contrast, in the world of software it frees these languages have been developed with a remarkable success. As important projects of free software as Mozilla navigator, surroundings GNOME or the GNU/Linux system have complete or partial translations in all these languages. Free software represents an opportunity without precedents for the development of minority languages, like the Catalan, in the new technologies thanks to the liberties that guarantee to us. |
| Other Abstracts: | El programari lliure és un tipus de programari que dóna llibertat als seus usuaris. Amb l'adveniment d'Internet, el programari lliure s'ha consolidat com alternativa, tècnicament viable i econòmicament sostenible, al programari de propietat. Llengües com el *bretón, el gallec, el *gaélico o el català han tingut un desenvolupament molt escàs en el món del programari de propietat per les limitacions que imposa. En contraposició, en el món del programari lliure aquestes llengües s'han desenvolupat amb un èxit notable. Projectes de programari lliure tan importants com el navegador *Mozilla, l'entorn *GNOME o el sistema *GNU/Linux tenen traduccions completes o parcials en totes aquestes llengües. El programari lliure representa una oportunitat sense precedents per al desenvolupament de llengües minoritàries, com el català, en les noves tecnologies gràcies a les llibertats que ens garanteix. |
