| Abstract: | If during today it has been using Internet surely already he is usuary of free software. Most of the infrastructure of Internet it is based on open protocols. More of 60% of Web servers they use Apache, a great number of servants they use SendMail to manage the shipment of electronic mail, and practically the totality of the servants of names (DNS) essential in the operation of the Network, uses program BIND or derivatives of their source code. Internet is nine means that, without a doubt, are revolutionizing many aspects of the society and are being a fundamental space for the innovation in many areas of the knowledge. The importance is unquestionable that has had free software in the extension and development of Internet from its beginnings. Also, it has been also important that the protocols that define the architecture of Internet are opened and been they have not controlled by one or few companies. As we will see, both factors are also determining in the technological decisions that make reference to the use of the new technologies in the public administration. |
| Other Abstracts: | Se, no dia de hoje, você já esteve usando a Internet, certamente você já é usuário de software livre. A maior parte da infra-estrutura de Internet está baseada em protocolos abertos. Acima do 60% dos servidores web utilizam Apache. Outro grande número usa SendMail para gerir ou enviar correio eletrônico, e praticamente todos os servidores de nomes (DNS), essenciais para o funcionamento da Rede, usam o programa BIND ou derivados do seu código fonte.
A Internet é um novo meio que, sem dúvida alguma, está revolucionando muitos aspectos da sociedade e está sendo um espaço fundamental para a inovação de muitas áreas do conhecimento. É indiscutível a importância que teve o software livre na extensão e desenvolvimento da Internet desde seus começos. Também, tem sido muito importante que os protocolos que definem a arquitetura da Internet sejam abertos e que não tenham sido controlados por uma ou unas poucas empresas Ver Internet Engineering Task Force, http://www.ietf.org/. Como veremos, ambos os fatores são também determinantes nas decisões tecnológicas relativas ao uso das novas tecnologias na administração pública. |
