HILT : High-Level Thesaurus project phase II : a terminologies server for the JISC Information Environment : final report to JISC

Abstract

This Final report is addressed to JISC, the funders of HILT Phase II, but may also be of interest to other organizations facing the problem of achieving and maintaining interoperability in the subject description and classification of distributed information resources. The project was funded to set up a pilot terminologies service for the JISC Information Environment, aiming to: a. Provide a practical experimental focus within which to investigate and establish subject terminology service requirements for the JISC I.E b. Make recommendations as regards a possible future service.
