| Abstract: | Plagiarism is playing a major role in conjunction with fraudulent falsification of research results. However, plagiarism and unethical authorship is also becoming a serious problem in the academic every-day life. Especially relatively unknown authors without institutional back-up are likely to get victims of plagiarism – particularly, if they work on theories outside of the academic mainstream. Due to new information technologies and the digital accessibility of many texts, the uncovering of plagiarism is facilitated. In this context information specialists play an important role. |
| Other Abstracts: | Plagiate spielen einerseits bei großen Fälschungsskandalen eine Rolle, andererseits werden Plagiarismus und unethische Autorenschaften zunehmend zum Problem im Wissenschaftsalltag. Insbesondere unbekannte Autoren ohne institutionelle Rückendeckung sind gefährdet, Opfer von Plagiarismus zu werden, vor allem dann, wenn sie Theorien vertreten, die nicht im wissenschaftlichen Mainstream diskutiert werden. Durch neue Informationstechnologien und der digitalen Verfügbarkeit vieler Texte wird das Auffinden von Plagiaten jedoch erleichtert - in diesem Zusammenhang spielen die Kompetenzen der Informationsberufe eine tragende Rolle. |
