        <dc:description>It is without doubt, that the involvement of the academics is essential in the training process and use of the Library by the students. The collaboration between the Library of the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) and the faculty is achieved through the liaison librarians. 
The liaison librarians within this framework have taken on the task of training the users in order to teach them how to make full use of the Library’s resources and services.
The fundamental objective of the Library is to help the users become independent researchers and critical thinkers. Through information literacy users will develop skills needed to evaluate and use the information effectively in problem-solving and decision making affecting their professional and personal life.
The study describes the effort of providing information literacy to the users through training seminars provided by the CUT Library in cooperation with the academics. The case study of the Department of Nursing also presents the evaluation results of the seminars which were performed to the first year students of the Department during the academic year 2009-2010.</dc:description>
