English abstract

The paper presents some reflections on the sidelines of the “First national workshop of library science: teaching activity and research in Italian universities and international comparisons” (Rome, May 30-31, 2013). The seminar was an opportunity to discuss the role of LIS disciplines in the universities as well as the prospects of interactions with close or related disciplines, and also their possible contribution to cultural institutions or to the world of books and information. The workshop offered the chance to compare Italian experience of training and education with that of other countries (France, Spain and the United States). Several young researchers had the opportunity to present their LIS research, thus contributing to create a map of the latest LIS trends in Italy.

L’articolo presenta alcune riflessioni a margine del “1. Seminario nazionale di biblioteconomia: didattica e ricerca nell'università italiana e confronti internazionali”, Roma, 30-31 maggio 2013. Il seminario si è configurato come uno spazio di riflessione e discussione sul ruolo delle discipline biblioteconomiche all’interno delle università, sulle relazioni fruttuose che esse possono intrecciare con discipline di ambiti affini, e sul contributo che possono offrire a istituzioni culturali, al mondo del libro e a quello dell'informazione. Si è trattato inoltre di un’occasione di confronto tra esperienze di formazione e didattica realizzate in diversi paesi (Francia, Spagna e Stati Uniti), che ha dato modo a molti giovani studiosi di biblioteconomia di presentare le proprie ricerche, contribuendo così a tracciare la mappa delle ultime tendenze nazionali in campo biblioteconomico.
