English abstract

At the dawn of the 2000s, author libraries were the subject of an intense period of study and a focus on definition that led to the establishment of study groups (within the AIB, the current National Commission for Special Libraries, Archives and Author Libraries was born in this form),1 to the offering of conference cycles (think of the series “Conserving the Twentieth Century”, which between 2000 and 2012 included the topic in meetings dedicated to the safeguarding of 20th-century cultural heritage),2 to the development of good practices that also called into question the connection between bibliographical and archival documentation, up to the development of Guidelines for the treatment of personal funds,3 which just under a decade ago formalized – we might say codified – a set of indications for operators who find themselves ordering and managing materials of this type.

Le biblioteche d’autore sono state oggetto, all’alba degli anni Duemila, di un’intensa stagione di studi e di un’attenzione definitoria che ha portato alla costituzione di gruppi di studio (in ambito AIB, è nata con questa forma l’attuale Commissione nazionale biblioteche speciali, archivi e biblioteche d’autore)1, all’offerta di cicli congressuali (pensiamo alla serie “Conservare il Novecento”, che tra il 2000 e il 2012 ha inserito il tema negli incontri dedicati alla salvaguardia del patrimonio culturale del XX secolo)2, allo sviluppo di buone pratiche che hanno chiamato in causa anche il nesso tra documentazione bibliografica e archivistica, fino ad approdare all’elaborazione di Lineeguidaperiltrattamentodeifondipersonali3che poco meno di un decennio fa hanno formalizzato – potremmo dire codificato – un set di indicazioni per gli operatori che si trovano a ordinare e gestire mate-riali di questo tipo.
