English abstract
This study assesses information literacy skills among 118 undergraduate students in colleges in Sindhudurg District, Maharashtra, using a descriptive survey and structured questionnaire. Findings indicate good information literacy skills across four dimensions, with mean scores ranging from 3.63 to 3.73. Students were confident in identifying information needs, searching and evaluating resources, using library databases, narrowing search results, assessing authors’ credentials, and citing sources. However, gaps remain in identifying scholarly sources, understanding plagiarism, using OPAC, and applying citation styles.
