English abstract
This article analyzes female migration along the U.S.Mexico border—a geographical and sym-bolic space where dynamics of resistance and political agency emerge, and where migration, transcending mere physical displacement, is understood as a rebellion against cultural norms that relegate women to the domestic sphere and subject them to structural violence. Consequent-ly, this study conceptualizes migration as a transgression of the patriarchal order. Through a systematic literature review, seventeen key articles were selected to analyze the genderbased violence experienced by these women. The results show that despite facing discrimination and exclusion, they have managed to redefine their identity and sense of belonging, transforming their migratory journey into active forms of resistance. Moreover, crossing the border fosters new networks of sisterhood, while language, space, and culture serve as tools to dismantle bar-riers. Ultimately, a hybrid identity emerges as an act of empowerment in the face of oppression.
