English abstract

Questo testo riporta l’applicazione delle linee guida RDA (Resource  Description and Access) ad un archivio. Il fondo preso in analisi è l’Archivio Chini, appartenente all'artista toscano Galileo Chini. La sperimentazione ha messo in risalto alcune criticità nell’allineamento di RDA alle necessità della descrizione archivistica. Tuttavia, nonostante queste difficoltà riscontrate, RDA si dimostra un valido punto di partenza per la descrizione delle risorse e, nel futuro, in seguito al dialogo e alla cooperazione fra le varie parti interessate, potrebbe veramente diventare lo standard unico per la descrizione delle risorse.

English abstract

This article shows the application of RDA (Resource Description and Access) guidelines to archives. The archive used belongs to the Tuscan artist Galileo Chini. This experimentation highlighted some critical issues in the alignment of RDA with the needs of the archival description. However, despite these difficulties, RDA proves to be a valid starting point for the description of resources and, in the future, following the dialogue and cooperation between the various stakeholders, it could become the only standard for the description of resources.
