The very first definition of preservation which comes to minds is ensuring the survival of information in valid forms for as long as it is wanted. The digital preservation, on the other hand focuses more on continued access to digital information. Three main strategies recommended in digital preservation are “Technology Preservation”, “Technology Emulation”, and “Information Migration”. Moreover, Digital Archeology techniques aiming the recovery of information are considered in this category. These strategies are not competitors. In the opposite, they can be combined and used together. Many elements, including pricing must be taken into consideration, as one selects a strategy.
