<abstract xmlns="http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0">Paper presented at the tutorial “Da Babele ad Alessandria? Cataloguing and non-latin alphabets” held in Venice at the Querini Stampalia Foundation, with the patronage of: the Cultural Heritage Ministry, ICCU (Central Institute for the Unique Catalogue) and the Commission for the review of RICA (Italian Rules for Cataloguing by Authors), the library system of the University of Venice, the Regional Library for archival and library science, the Querini Stampalia Foundation; with the contribution of the Public Library and the Cataloguing Commissions of AIB (Italian Libraries Association). As the title suggests, this paper  do not circumscribe its analysis to non-latin documents cataloguing problems, but tries to offer an overview on the bibliographic management of this kind of documents.</abstract>
