A general panorama of the telecommunications infrastructure in Mexico based on recent statistics. Also, the advances respect to technological applications in libraries are reviewed. The situation of some university libraries and Center UNESCO of Technologies of Information for Latin America is described. On the other hand the advances of two important projects of Digital Libraries. Finally, account of the projects Internet2-Mexico and Scholastic Red occurs.
