<abstract xmlns="http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0">The Online Information 2000 was focused on information value as an economic resource. Two aspects of information exist: 1. that related to the construction of informative products such as portals finalized to profit and orientated to outside, to potential user/customer; 2. that related to management of the information and knowledge produced in industries or coming from outside (knowledge management), bearing element of production and added value to business. The topics of this year have been: portals, taxonomy and indexing, digital library creation and management, consortia for ER acquisition, licence negotiating, copyright, data preservation, information to citizenship. The Italian Forum had as main theme “Italian background of electronic information between new products and old weaknesses”.</abstract>
