<abstract xmlns="http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0">In an interesting international conferenze organized by the Florence University Press (http://www.unifi.it/e-press/conferenza.htm) have been discussed some themes relating to spread and access to scientific information in the age of information technology, and the role of university publishing.  Is possible an efficient knowedge and information dissemination as an alternative to commercial publishing, guaranteeing academic quality, intellectual property protection and the permanent archival of the digital document with small costs?</abstract>
