In the last years the growth of systems and projects to create and develop digital libraries involves different field of the techical-scientific research: information retrieval, artificial intelligence, networks, information sciences, automated translation, documentantion, library science etc. The DELOS project was born with the Vth EC program, to make easier the comparison between the professionals acting in the information society (technicians, documentalists, librarians, archivists, museums operators and organization experts).
