<abstract xmlns="http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0">Researchers and scholars of Universities become self-editors in a parallel circle to traditional academic publishing made of big publishers, lost of rights and high costs to buy again their own research output. An interesting idea, sounding like a taunt by Stevan Harnad, catalysed the attention and started the debate with librarians, experts, publishers and software producers invited to discuss together at the Scholarly communication reconsidered International Seminar, organized from the institutions involved into DAFNE (District Architecture for Networked Edition). Aim of DAFNE is to create a kind of national structure for e-journals production, to increase the value of Italian research outputs, especially in literature and arts.</abstract>
