<abstract xmlns="http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0">The paper is a review of lectures given during the sessions of the Bibliographic Control Section of 68th IFLA General Conference held 2002 in Glasgow. The review is done from viewpoint of a librarian whose competence is the subject classification and indexing. Main problems are focussed in the actual projects which are now underway all around the world in order to bridge the gap between different systems of subject indexing and classification. New approaches in bibliographic processing and processing of online electronic resources are highlihted.</abstract>
