INIS (International Nuclear Information System) is the world's leading information system on the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. Among the other types of primary documents, near 4000 titles of journals are regularly scanned by INIS member states. Some characteristics of the INIS database and particularly those of the journals referred in the INIS article records are highlighted in the paper. A set of journals obtained by searching with the same query in two databases - INIS database and Science Citation Index (SCI) - is considered. The most frequent journals in the INIS records and those which simultaneously had occurred in the SCI are analyzed. The impact factors according to SCI Journal Citation Reports of some journal titles show that a number of those journals are highly ranked in its category.
