The article presents to the readers a format as much extended at the present time but so unknown as it is the electronic format and, in particular, the electronic journals. Secondly we try to analyze of an objective form the advantages and disadvantages that the present has this type of publications. Finally, our objective has been to show the aspects to consider and the role that the electronic journals have in the libraries.
