It presents a reflection on the formation of the reader, in the university environment, in relation to identification, use and access to the information resources. The main objective of this paper is emphasize the Users Education as an important activity to be inserted in the academic environment because little is the value of having resources to facilite reading if the users (professors, students, researchers) not know how to use them. Module 1, of the Program of Users Education of the System of Libraries of Unicamp, is analyzed aiming to clarify its objectives and contribution for the reading process and production of new knowledge. Thus, from the identification of topics of the given content, the relation past/present and the context are analyzed to delimit questions that intervene in the understanding of the research process, until it reaches the stage of reading.
