<abstract xmlns="http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0">There is a high yield of technical and documentary audiovisual standards. It is necessary to identify those with a significant utility for the acquisition, quality assurance, description, distribution, data interchange and long-term archiving of audiovisual knowledge media from different provenances and for different target groups. The BMBF-supported project "IWFcontentport" provides excellent trial and testing conditions for this. Methodology and initial results are reported.</abstract>
