<abstract xmlns="http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0">Digital archiving is a concept that has little to do with archives in the conventional sense. It is most often used to refer to the role of libraries for the long-term storage and preservation of published information in digital form. The subject of this paper is therefore how libraries should organise the archiving function in a way that will ensure the availability of scientific publications for future generations.</abstract>
