Specific characteristics of small countries and their scientific output recording are highlighted. Advantages and disadvantages of such an approach are discussed. The role of libraries in such a project could be very significant. Some of Croatian libraries are ready to take part in the bibliographic database improvement as to provide better communication among scientists. 2002 CARNet U radu je detaljno opisan koncept Hrvatske znanstvene bibliografije (CROSBI) kao i svi sudionici u procesu stvaranja: Ministarstvo znanosti i tehnologije RH, Hrvatska akademska i istraživačka mreža (CARNet), znanstvenici i knjižnice njihovih ustanova. Istaknute su posebnosti malih država i njihove znanstvene publicistike. Diskutirane su prednosti i nedostaci takvog pristupa. Uloga knjižnica u ovakvim projektima može biti vrlo važna.
