<abstract xmlns="http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0">The interfaces configuration for information access and retrieval in bibliographic databases, including OPAC, must be adapted to the new paradigms, especially to the User-Centered Design. However, it is very difficult to define the usability criteria for different users types. The retrieval systems have been designed for professional’s use. Therefore, the novice users have got difficulties with the terminology, searching language and browse guidelines.</abstract>
