<abstract xmlns="http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0">The advent of E-mail has opened new gates for a highly efficient mode of information exchange. This paper, in addition to giving an overview of the concept of E-mail, discusses the possible application of this new tool in various activities of a modern library. A typical case has been described to show its effectiveness in acquisition of books for a library. The paper also presents the extent of usage of E-mail in a few selected libraries from whom data was collected through a questionnaire.</abstract>
