Electronic Books. E-Books. Virtual Libraries. Information Society. The appearance of electronic books will bring about a change, which will mean a lot more than the simple introduction of a new format as a medium for the transmission of knowledge. This drastic change will modify social behaviour and customs in the human act of reading and accessing culture. The concept of the traditional book had not changed since the medieval codex or the way we interact with it. Libraries, as the main intermediaries between cultural and society, will change some of their services with the adoption of this new electronic format. 2001 Asociación Andaluza de Bibliotecarios (AAB) La aparición de los Libros Electrónicos va a suponer un cambio más importante que la aparente introducción de un nuevo formato como soporte en la transmisión de conocimientos. El concepto de libro tradicional no había cambiado desde el codex medieval, así como la manera en que interactuamos con él.
