The history of printing in Antequera between 1573 and 1603 is studied through the analysis of four active printers, their bioraphies and output trying to discover the reasons that contributed to the sudden appearance of printers in the city. Information is provided on the Nebrija family descibing their work in Antequera and differentiating it from their work in Granada, which has been very little studied, and setting it into the context of the printing privileges and economic interests they had. Details are also provided on the work carried out by printers other than the four mentioned in the title.
