<abstract xmlns="http://eprints.org/ep2/data/2.0">Description of the virtual event “I Workshop Virtual CiberEduc”, which had placed on the 14th of September 2004, from 9am to 11am. Two videoconference rooms were connected; one at the Faculdade de Educação da UNICAMP, in Campinas, São Paulo, and other at the Rede Nacional de Pesquisa in Brasília, with transmission on-line on the Internet, this fact allowed the synchronic interaction trough the use of e-mail for submission of questions to ciberedu@unicamp.br. Two Web servers of the UNICAMP were used to transmit the event. The theme discussed was “SEER: electronic journals – editing and access”. The line registration was free and 126 certificates were distributed on the Internet in PDF format, for those who had their registration confirmed by sending by e-mail at least one question about the selected topic. There were 218 registrations and 35 questions were answered during the event. Also more 10 questions were sent by e-mail afterwards. Instructions were sent previously to all the participants, and one telephone number was available during the workshop. Some registered participants did not get connected on real time. The workshop’s video and the participants’ presentations were published on the Internet. The experience was considered positive for the organizers as well as the attendees. It contributed for the continuity of that kind of virtual workshops.</abstract>
